To commemorate over 80 years since the opening of the JR Bus Tohoku Shimokita Line, a set featuring a JNR (Japanese National Railways) replica bus from the Ominato branch and a currently painted bus from the Ninohe branch is now on sale!

The Shimokita Line (nicknamed: Shimokita Seaside Line),.
operated by JR Bus Tohoku, which connects Tanabu, ?minato Station, Kawauchi Town, and Wakinosawa Town Hall, will celebrate its 80th anniversary in 2024 since its opening in 1943 as a Ministry of Railways-operated bus service between Tanabu and Kawauchi Town, and between Kawauchi Town and Mutsu-Wakinosawa.
To commemorate this, JR Bus Tohoku has started operating a "Japanese National Railways (JNR) retro bus" at its ?minato branch, which manages the Shimokita Line, adorned with headmarks and emblems from the JNR bus era.
The interior of the bus is also decorated by volunteers from the ?minato branch, displaying posters of nostalgic JNR-era Shimokita Line timetables and valuable records of the towns along the line during the 1960s when it was operated by two crew members.
In addition, JNR-era "bus stop signs" and "bus usage information signs" that were used on the former "Abej? Line" (Kawauchi Town to Yunokawa Onsen) are also on display.
This set includes two buses: one with a JNR (Japanese National Railways) retro design and another of the current JR Bus Tohoku route buses.
1/150 scale N gauge size, pre-painted and assembled.
