Approximately 24.2M Full-Frame CMOS Sensor The full-frame CMOS sensor with an effective pixel count of approximately 24.2 million pixels achieves high-precision AF with an on-chip phase difference sensor, while also achieving high resolution, precise depiction, and a wide dynamic range. Furthermore, the faster readout speed enables faster continuous shooting and minimizes the rolling shutter effect (distortion that occurs when shooting fast-moving subjects) during electronic shutter and video recording. This sensor achieves a superior balance of high sensitivity and resolution.

Venus Engine with L2 Technology The Venus Engine is equipped with L2 Technology (L-Square Technology), jointly developed by Leica and Panasonic. It quickly processes image information output from the high-pixel sensor, resulting in high-definition, natural-looking textures. Furthermore, new Intelligent Detail Processing and noise reduction deliver superior image quality, high sensitivity, and color reproduction in both still and video capture. It also quickly processes high-resolution video, including 6K 30p 10-bit recording.

779-Point On-Chip Phase-Detection AF Faster processing and an improved AF algorithm significantly improve subject detection, enabling accurate autofocus by identifying the subject's movement and characteristics. On-chip phase-detection AF uses an on-chip phase-detection sensor to quickly and accurately calculate the distance to the subject. Its 779-point AF system captures dynamically moving subjects. When combined with auto-detection AF, it delivers superior AF tracking performance even in backlit or low-light situations where the subject is difficult to distinguish, scenes with multiple people crossing paths, and even smaller subjects.

Advanced Recognition AF Development of recognition AI using deep learning technology enables faster and more accurate recognition of smaller subjects in addition to the existing "People Recognition" and "Animal Recognition" functions. The camera also now includes "Car Recognition," "Motorcycle Recognition," and "Animal Eye Recognition." By combining distance information, it achieves highly accurate focusing performance for both still and video shooting.

Versatile Focus Functions Versatile focus functions are useful for various shooting environments, changing weather, and capturing a variety of subjects. By selecting the optimal AF function for the shooting scene and subject, you can concentrate on capturing the perfect shot. Auto-detection AF allows for greater flexibility by combining various AF modes, allowing you to select the optimal combination for each shooting scene.

5-Axis, 5.0-Step In-Body Image Stabilization (B.I.S.) The camera's built-in in-body image stabilization (B.I.S.) utilizes a newly developed algorithm to compensate for camera shake based on information from the high-precision gyro sensor, image sensor, and accelerometer. As a result, it achieves image stabilization performance equivalent to 5.0 stops of shutter speed. This further enhances support for shooting in previously difficult situations, such as low light, enabling greater mobility and a wider range of creative expression.

• Active I.S. & E.I.S.: The camera's advanced E.I.S. video peripheral distortion correction reduces peripheral distortion when using wide-angle lenses. Combined with Active I.S., which is effective for video recording, it enables reduced blur and peripheral distortion when shooting while walking, even with significant camera shake (such as gimbal shooting). A new "Strong" correction mode has been added to "Standard."

MP4 (Lite) Video Format The low-bitrate MP4 (Lite) video format is now available. You can trim and edit videos from the wide 3:2 aspect ratio to your desired aspect ratio with a photographic feel. Small file sizes and fast transfer speeds make editing smoother. Video quality is 3.8K (3840x2560) at 29.97p at 50Mbps, making it the ideal video format for sharing short videos on social media.

Full-pixel High-Speed Continuous Shooting Ultra-high-speed continuous shooting at approximately 30 frames per second at approximately 24.2 million full pixels. The electronic shutter records RAW+JPEG, allowing you to capture clear, high-quality continuous shots while tracking moving subjects.

Pre-Continuous Shooting The SH Pre-Continuous Shooting feature allows you to start continuous shooting before fully pressing the shutter. When set to High-Speed Continuous Shooting (SH PRE), continuous shooting begins in advance when you half-press the shutter button. It is possible to record the period up to the time the shutter button is pressed all the way down. With a pre-recording time of 0.5 seconds, you can take approximately 15 pre-continuous shots. Even if you miss a precious moment due to delayed human reaction, the camera will automatically record the moment.
