Himeji Castle is a castle located in Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture. It is also known as Shirasagijo (White Heron Castle). It is a representative example of the remains of a castle in the early modern period, and has never been damaged by war since its construction. Eight of the buildings, including the large castle tower, small castle tower, and wataru turret, are national treasures.
