Finemolds 1/48 Imperial Navy carrier fighter aircraft trial production Reppu. As the name suggests, requirements for the 17th prototype carrier-based fighter (later named Prototype Reppu), which was planned as a successor to the Zero Fighter, were submitted by the Navy in 1944. The design was difficult due to the excessive performance requirements and there was no room to choose the engine, and the first prototype was not completed until April 1945 due to the busy production and modification of the current Zero Fighter and Raiden. . Although its maneuverability and flight stability were highly praised during its first flight, its speed and climbing performance were far from meeting requirements due to the lack of engine power, and improvements continued until the end of the war.
