[About Kaiten]
The human torpedo "Kaiten", in which the crew acts as the eyes of the torpedo and rams enemy ships, was launched for a short period of about five months starting from March 1945 when the war situation worsened. Manufactured in The engine and propulsion part of the Type 93 oxygen torpedo, which the Navy was proud of to the world at the time, was used as is, and it had an explosive charge of 1,500 kg, twice that of a torpedo, and a firing range that allowed it to launch and attack from outside the range of enemy ship torpedoes.
