Ta. As a result, although the maximum speed was slightly lower than Hien due to the increased front surface area, the climbing performance was improved due to the removal of the cooling system, etc., and the overall balance was improved, so fighting performance and takeoff and landing characteristics were significantly improved. As a result, it is now able to compete in air combat against the F-6F Hellcat and P-51D Mustang. The Type 5, which successfully flew for the first time in February 1945, was seen as a hope for air defense on the mainland, and efforts were immediately made to mass-produce it, and it was deployed intensively to the 244th, 5th, and 59th squadrons. Although it played an active role in air defense warfare, only about 390 aircraft were produced due to the bombing of the factory during air raids, and the war ended without a significant force.
