The 500 series is a train developed by JR West for the Tokaido-Sanyo Shinkansen line.
It features a sharp, sleek shape reminiscent of an aircraft and boasts a maximum commercial speed of 300km/h.
In 2010, it retired from service on the Tokaido-Sanyo Shinkansen Nozomi line, and is now converted to an 8-car formation and is in service on the Sanyo Shinkansen line.
Uses hook and U-shaped conductive coupler
This product (cars 6, 7, 10, and 15) can be combined with product numbers 98363 and 98365 to create a full 16-car formation.
