The 113 series 3800 series was remodeled by JR West in 2000, and nine sets of the train were introduced.

Based on the previously used 113 series 800 series, it has been remodeled into a leading car and has been adapted for one-man operation, giving it a new life as a two-car train.

The Kumoha 113 series, which was converted into a leading car, had a driver's cab based on the structure of the intermediate car for the purpose of efficiency, and together with the reinforcement plate on the front, it had a rugged appearance.

This series was mainly used between Fukuchiyama and Kinosaki (now Kinosaki Onsen) on the San'in Main Line, and between Sasayamaguchi and Fukuchiyama on the Fukuchiyama Line, but was replaced in 2008 by the 223 series 5500 series, and all trains were retired.

By using a separately sold power unit and N gauge running parts, it can be run as an N gauge model train.
