The 103-3000 series, a remodeled version of an old national railway vehicle exclusively for the Kawagoe Line and Hachiko Line, has been licensed for commercialization by JR East.
It has been a long time since it was released in the Railway Collection!
The 103-3000 series is a remodeled version of the 72-series accommodation-modified cars that became surplus on the Senseki Line following the electrification of the Kawagoe Line in 1985 (Showa 60).

In order to convert to the 103 series, the train was modified using electric bogies that were made by reviewing spare parts for the 103 series, and trailer bogies made from parts from scrapped 101 series trains.

When it was on the Kawagoe Line, it was operated with a three-car formation, but during rush hour, you could also see a four-car formation with an additional Saha 103 car.

In 1996, when the Hachiko Line's Hachioji-Koma River section was electrified, direct service between the Kawagoe Line and the Hachiko Line began.
At this time, four-car trains with Saha cars became the standard, and the 103 series 3500 series, which were converted from regular cars to increase service, also appeared.

In 2003, the 205 series was introduced and operations were reduced.

Furthermore, with the introduction of the 209 series 3100 series, which had been converted from the Rinkai Line, commercial operation ended in October 2005.

By using a separately sold power unit and N gauge running parts, it can be run as an N gauge model train.

We recommend the TM-18 (20m class D) power unit, TT-03R (for Kuha 103 and Saha 103) and TT-05 (for Kumoha 102 and Moha 103) running parts sets, and PS16WN [0290] pantograph.
