各パーツの合いはタミヤらしくない悪さで、全身にパテが必要になります。デカールも経年劣化していて、タミヤのカスタマーに問い合わせたことがありますが、既に無いそうです。（そりゃそうですね、、、）もしキット付属のデカールを使うつもりならデカール保護剤が必須ですが、それでも破ける砕ける覚悟がいります。実際使い物にならず塗装でマーキングした部分も数ヵ所あります。とは言うものの、映画ファイナルカウントダウンの「あの」トムキャットが作れると言うのはとても魅力的です。最近アシェットの週刊トムキャットが出ていますが、形状に関してはこちらの方が正確です。決して万人に勧められる内容ではありませんが、完成した時の迫力とカッコ良さは最高です。
