Description (1,684 characters)
This is a plastic model that requires assembly and painting.
Tools, paint, etc. are required separately.
Product Description: 1/72 scale plastic model.
The North American B-25J Mitchell was a twin-engine bomber deployed to the United States Army Air Corps.
In January 1938, the U.S Army issued an order to develop a prototype attack bomber, resulting in the development of the NA-40, the predecessor to the B-25.Unfortunately, the NA-40 failed Army inspection, but its basic design was well-received, and development continued.
This resulted in the improved NA-62, which was officially adopted by the U.S Army as the B-25 in August 1939.This kit was developed as the definitive B-25J!
This time, it recreates the early model's glass-nose aircraft, featuring a transparent windshield.
It features a choice of three or five machine guns.
The bomb bay can be opened or closed and contains two bombs.
A gun pack can be attached to the side of the fuselage.
The parts are designed for ease of assembly, including the inclusion of spars through the wings.
Because this aircraft was sturdy and easy to handle, it was primarily deployed on the Pacific front, where airfield facilities were scarce.
The J model was produced starting in December 1943 and became the mainstream model towards the end of the war.
Decals for the 498th Bombardment Squadron "JAUNTYJO" (November 1944), the 498th Bombardment Squadron "MISSBHAVIN" (February 1945), and the 486th Bombardment Squadron "BOTTOMS-UP II" (March 1944) are included.
