The AA-type City Turbo II was released in November 1983, replacing the previous City Turbo.
Compared to the Turbo, the addition of an intercooler and other features meant that maximum output improved to 110 PS/5,500 rpm.
It also featured a "Scramble Boost" function that increased boost pressure by 10% for 10 seconds when the throttle was fully opened with engine speeds below 4,000 rpm.
The exterior was newly equipped with front and rear blister fenders and special bumpers, making it synonymous with the radical and fun hot hatch.
