The third-generation Skyline, commonly known as the "Hakosuka," was released in 1968, and a two-door hardtop was released in the fall of 1970. The wheelbase was shortened by 70mm compared to the preceding four-door sedan, which is said to have been for cornering performance when racing, but it also contributed greatly to the styling. The long-nose 2000GT series in particular helped improve the overall image of the Skyline, further increasing sales, which had already been on the rise thanks to the "Skyline of Love" advertising campaign. After the Hakosuka four-cylinder sedan, light van, 2000GT series sedan, and 2000GT-R sedan, TLV has now finally produced a two-door hardtop. First up is a reproduction of the early 1971 2000GT.
