Tomix 976092026 February - March 2026 [Product introduction] Tomix's completed N gauge vehicle, JR Waki 5000 series freight car set (8 cars). Newly produced Waki 5000 series reproduces the square-roof group. Car numbers and markings are printed. Black bogie frame and black wheels are used. Reproduces the 30000 series of Waki 5000 series that underwent interior maintenance. Waki 36250, 36255, 36324, 36334, and 36487 reproduce TR216 bogies. Car numbers and markings are printed. The regular station is "Tomakomai." A transfer sheet for changing car numbers and regular stations is included. Change car numbers include "5560, 5569, 6185, 6252, 6440, 35639, and 36271." Reflector parts are included. Black bogie frame and black wheels are used. Stored in a book-shaped plastic case. The large bogie-type Waki 5000 series covered car is back in the TOMIX freight car lineup for the first time in about 40 years! Five of the cars in the set recreate the group with TR216 bogies. [About the Actual Vehicle] The Waki 5000 series is a bogie-type covered wagon based on the Waki 10000 for high-speed freight trains, with a top speed of 85 km/h. It was primarily used to transport paper products and motorcycles, but due to a decline in freight traffic and the replacement of freight with containers, all cars were retired from freight transport in the late 1990s. From the late 1980s, some of the cars had their interior shelves removed, and became the 30000 series, which were used primarily to transport paper products from Hokkaido, and some were also used to transport chemical products.
