[About the Actual Car] The DE10s belonging to JR Freight's Aichi depot were active in shunting, construction services, and towing Class A out-of-service trains in the Nagoya area. No. 1557 was the only newly refurbished JR Freight car without the JRF markings on the side, and was the last remaining DE10 at the Aichi depot. In 2024, its final year of service, it was loaned to Okayama Locomotive Depot, where it operated alongside No. 1561, but was retired in March 2025. The DE10s belonging to JR Freight Okayama Locomotive Depot were used for shunting at Kurashiki Freight Terminal and towing direct freight trains to Mizushima Rinkai Railway. No. 1561 was the last remaining vehicle at Okayama Locomotive Depot, and in 2021, in addition to the broken white stripe and black underframe characteristic of vehicles inspected at JR Freight Hiroshima Depot, silver decorations were added to the chimney and coupler.
