The Power Drive Engine, comprised of two technologies—a large-diameter oversized Power Digigear and roller power oscillation using a ball bearing system—is housed in a larger, more powerful "Full Metal (AL) Monocoque Body," resulting in a lighter initial response and more efficient, powerful reeling power.
The Power Drive Rotor, made of metal (AL), features a streamlined spherical shape that maintains low inertia while achieving increased rigidity. The synergistic effect of this rotor's Crank Power Bail and Tough Line Roller System enables precise line release and a smooth transition to reeling action.
The drag mechanism has also been completely redesigned. Up to the 14,000 size, the ATD Tough system is comprised of a total of 14 carbon and metal washers. From the 18,000 size onwards, the new drag mechanism, "DRD," is employed. This all-new mechanism, with eight metal rollers on a single plate, minimizes drag force loss due to frictional heat.
