REVOLUTIONThe XJ400, released in 1980, was equipped with a newly designed air-cooled DOHC 4-cylinder engine that placed the generator behind the cylinders to reduce engine width, a luxurious bodywork that adopted double disc brakes at the front, and was equipped with a double horn and a fuel gauge and voltmeter, the first in its class.
With Yamaha's unique flowing styling and being lightweight, slim and easy to handle, it became a best-selling classic.
