Developed under the direction of Osamu Ito, the R32 marked a significant departure from the luxury car style of its predecessor, the R31, and a return to its roots.
Downsized to return to the original Skyline form, it combined the handling benefits of the 901 project with the power of the evolved RB engine at an extremely high level, resulting in a car that has been described as the best Skyline eVer. And its excellent qualities led to the revival of the GT-R, after a 16-year hiatus.
