A commemorative set of three cars including the Kiha 40 series, Hokkaido Southern Sea Blessings, which will end regular service in the Hakodate area on March 15, 2025.
On March 14, 2025, the final day of regular service, the 5881D train from Hakodate to Mori via Fujishiro and Shikabe was assigned to this model, and the three Kiha 40 cars were reproduced and were in service throughout the day.
Licensed for commercialization by JR Hokkaido High Grade (HG) specifications.
On March 14, 2025, the final day of regular service, the 5881D train from Hakodate to Mori via Fujishiro and Shikabe was assigned to this model, and the three Kiha 40 cars were reproduced and were in service throughout the day.
The Kiha 40-1801 type has a newly produced skirt with a distinctive shape similar to the early model on the two end sides.
Kiha 40-1806 and 1809 models reproduce the skirt with a small inclination angle, which is a characteristic of later models.
Kiha 40-1809 is a reproduction of the "South Hokkaido Sea Blessings" decorated vehicle.
The double-tiered windows are printed to recreate the lowered winter state.
Typhon is available in four sizes (shutter and slit type).
The front display is interchangeable and comes with two different types of printed "One Man" parts.
Car number and some notations are printed.
The H-rubber is black for the front driver's seat window and passenger seat window, and gray for the rest.
Shoe rails and door rails are reproduced in silver (except for Kiha 40-1809).
Head and tail lights and front display are equipped with a constant lighting board and an ON-OFF switch.
Headlights, taillights, and front display are illuminated by white LEDs.
The headlights use color prisms to illuminate in a color similar to incandescent light.
Flywheel-equipped power unit, new current collection system, black wheels.
M-13 motor.
TN coupler (SP) standard equipment.
* Jumper hose cannot be installed on the Kiha 40-1801 (M)2 end due to interference with the skirt.

No batteries are used even when driving, lighting up, or illuminating.
