Recorded in Nashville and Los Angeles, this album features many of the same musicians who played on "Look Up." The core band, consisting of Paul Franklin, David Mansfield, Dennis Crouch, Daniel Tassian, Lorie Hoffman, Patrick Warren, and Colin Linden (T-Bone affectionately calls them "The Texans," after the Liverpool band Ringo was in in 1959), also reunited. Of the 10 tracks on "Long, Long Road," six were written by T-Bone Burnett alone or co-written.
