Scheduled for release around April-May 2026: Kato's HO gauge model train, the EF81 in standard livery. Kato-1-320 EF81 Standard Livery Scheduled for release around April-May 2026 [Product Introduction] This is Kato's HO gauge model train, the EF81 in standard livery. Reproduced in the form used when pulling Blue Trains, belonging to Tsuruga Second Locomotive Depot from 1980-1982 (Showa 55-57), reproducing the form of units 75 to 136 (external taillight mounting, block-type number plates, and driver's steps mounted inside the skirt). While reproducing the basic shape of the bogies and body, user-installed parts have been minimized. You can easily take it out of the box and enjoy running it without worrying about damaging parts. The roof wiring is reproduced with metal parts, and the insulators are green. Selectable number plates: "EF81 97", "EF81 105", "EF81 106", "EF81 108", and manufacturer's plates: "Hitachi" and "Mitsubishi" are included. The window glass is gray H-rubber, the headmarks are "Nihonkai" and "Tsurugi", and the wheels use box wheel centers. Equipped with a tail light lighting gimmick. Switchable between single-unit operation mode (both sides lit), shunting mode (one side lit when moving forward), and towing mode (tail lights off). In addition to endless running, shunting operation in small spaces using separately sold Kadee couplers and uncoupler tracks is also recommended. Equipped with a coreless motor bogie power unit, it achieves stable running performance and strong traction. The upgrade parts set, which allows the locomotive to pass through curves of R370 on its own, consists of signal flares, whistle covers, auxiliary whistles, radio antennas (antenna body and base), wipers, jumper plugs, release levers, detailed handrails, electric heating indicator lights, and white insulators, which are omitted in the original product. You can recreate the locomotive to your liking. Guides for attaching the parts are set on the product's body, roof, and skirt. [Set contents] [EF81 General Color] [Introduction to the actual vehicle] The EF81 has been widely used from the JNR era to the Reiwa era, from sleeper express trains to general freight trains. The product adopts a coreless motor bogie power unit system that achieves smooth running performance and high traction power, and is also equipped with a tail light lighting gimmick, making it suitable for shunting operations in small spaces. This time, we are re-releasing the rose pink "General Color". In addition, the "Upgrade Parts Set", which allows you to reproduce more precise details, is also being re-released at the same time, so you can customize the era setting and detailed form to your liking. Be sure to get it together with the locomotive.
