Etching parts for the Chibi Maru Military Series "Type 3 Medium Tank Chi-Nu" and "Type 1 Medium Tank Chi-He" are being re-released!
[Type 3 Medium Tank Chi-Nu] Developed as a tank capable of countering the M3 Stuart/M4 Sherman tanks, after the Japanese military keenly felt the difference in firepower and defensive capabilities compared to American tanks at the start of the Pacific War.
The main gun was upgraded from the 47mm gun of the previous Type 1 tank to a larger 75mm gun, and the turret, which was composed of flat surfaces, became larger than anything seen before.
Although mass production began, the war ended without the aircraft seeing any combat, as military strength was conserved in preparation for the anticipated final battle on the Japanese mainland.
[Type 1 Medium Tank Chi-He] The Type 97 tank's 57mm gun was insufficient to counter American and British tanks, so the newly developed Chi-Ha Kai, equipped with a 47mm long-barreled turret, was gradually deployed.
The Type 1 medium tank was modified with changes to the chassis and an upgraded engine, and around 170 units were produced during the war.
However, it appeared late, and was deployed to the 19th Tank Regiment (Kurume), 29th (Chiba), 30th (Narashino), 5th (Kazo), and 1st (Sano) to conserve forces for the defense of the Japanese mainland, and remained in service until the end of the war.
These etched parts allow for the reproduction of even the smallest details that are difficult to achieve with injection-molded parts.
These genuine photo-etched parts maintain the stylized look of the base kit while also incorporating the same level of detail as typical military models.
This product is an etched parts set (for one tank) compatible with the Chibimaru Military Series No. 9 Type 3 Medium Tank Chi-Nu and No. 11 Type 1 Medium Tank Chi-He.
The etching is made of brass and measures approximately 5.5 x 8.7 mm, with a thickness of approximately 0.1 mm.
The main content involves sanding down the molded details on the base kit and replacing them with precise photo-etched parts.
The photo-etched parts include engine grille, antenna base, muffler cover, gun barrel base, turret entrance door/engine hatch handles, and turret side molding.
The engine grille is constructed by assembling guide plates one by one.
The antenna base is designed to be constructed by assembling flat plates into a cube.
The muffler cover is made of mesh.
* This is a standalone etching part intended for those who already own the vehicle kit.
