[Product Introduction]
TAMIYA 1/48 Lockheed Martin F-35B Lightning II. The F-35 Lightning is a multi-role fighter that was developed based on a plan to consolidate various tactical aircraft operated by the U.S. Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps into one type of aircraft and its derivatives, and began deployment in 2011. II. Among the three types of F-35 developed, the F-35B for the Marine Corps is capable of short takeoff/vertical landing (STOVL) with a rotating engine duct/nozzle and lift fan. In addition, it features a weapon bay that allows weapons to be stored within the fuselage, radar wave absorption technology, and other features, allowing it to combine high-speed performance with a maximum speed of Mach 1.6 and excellent stealth. Following the US, UK, and Italy, Japan's Air Self-Defense Force also decided to introduce the F-35B in August 2019. As the world's first supersonic STOVL aircraft, it is expected to demonstrate high responsiveness. The in-fuselage weapon storage, which has three-dimensional details such as piping and wiring, has a shorter overall length than the F-35A, so it is modeled with all new parts. The door can be opened or closed. GBU-32GPS guided bombs and AIM-120C can also be installed in the weapons storage. All doors are divided into parts so that you can choose whether to open or close them, and three types of doors can be faithfully reproduced as in the actual machine. The characteristic rotating engine duct and nozzle are reproduced with sharp shapes and precise details. We have prepared three types of parts with nozzle angles of 0° (parked state), 30° (short takeoff state), and 84° (vertical landing state).
■Thorough reproduction of three types of configurations: ``parked condition'', ``short takeoff condition'' in which the aircraft attempts to take off from the flight deck or an airfield with a short runway distance, and ``vertical landing'' in which the aircraft lands vertically while hovering. Faithfully reproduces each form. Choose one form from three types and assemble it. Comes with an exhibition stand that reproduces vertical landing conditions.
■Set of 7 types of markings from 3 countries A total of 7 types of slide marks are available: 4 types for the US Marine Corps, 1 type for the Royal Air Force, and 2 types for the Italian Navy/Air Force.
