1/48 scale plastic model. The Sikorsky SH-3H Sea King is a U.S. Navy anti-submarine helicopter. This is a large twin-engine turbine helicopter that was adopted as the successor to the HSS-1 helicopter previously used by the Navy. Since the SH-3H Sea King was developed as a carrier-based aircraft, the five main rotor blades have a structure that automatically folds, and the tail boom in the tail rotor also has a folding mechanism. The fuselage of the SH-3H Sea King, whose main operational airspace is at sea, has a watertight semi-monocoque hull structure, which in combination with auxiliary floats on the sides of the fuselage allows for good landing performance. The engine is equipped with two T-58 turboshaft engines in parallel, ensuring high output and increasing safety in the unlikely event of engine trouble. The ship is equipped with the latest anti-submarine equipment such as MAD birds and sono buoys.
