We have been supporting the Japan Nature Conservation Association since 2018, and this time we focused on Minakami Town, one of the main areas where the Japan Nature Conservation Association is focusing on environmental conservation.
Minakami Town, which still has a lot of untouched nature, produces the first drop of the Tone River and is called the water bottle of the metropolitan area, supporting the living things surrounding Tokyo.
The details of the design are developed against this background.
The dial depicts how the snow that has piled up on Mt. Ominakami begins to spread drop by drop toward each river.
Inspired by the story of "mountains and water," the design emphasizes visibility with white and blue accent colors.
Additionally, the small hand on the in-dial at 10 o'clock has a design inspired by Minakami's symbol, the golden eagle.
The camera back is also engraved with a design based on the motif of "a golden eagle and the snowy valley of Mt. Ominakami."
The PRW-61NJ uses a Durasoft band made from recycled materials from the production process, which is expected to reduce environmental impact.
Like the base model PRW-61, the case and resin back cover are made of biomass plastic resin, which is expected to reduce environmental impact, giving form to the environment.
In terms of functionality, it is equipped with a triple sensor, so it can measure direction, barometric pressure/altitude, and temperature.
In addition to the measurement function, the watch also has practical functions such as radio clock and tough solar.
