Plastic Models
[Scale] 1/700
Product Introduction The Battleship Yamato, a symbol of the Combined Fleet, is back with additional armament and equipment parts and specification changes! The product is an unpainted kit that requires assembly and painting.

The scale is 1/700, and the offshore model does not include the bottom of the ship.

This product is made up of a conventional (special series) mold and newly designed additional parts.

The battleship Yamato was the first of the Yamato-class, the last type of battleship designed and constructed by the Imperial Japanese Navy, and was completed in December 1941 at the Kure Naval Arsenal, shortly after the outbreak of war.

The ship was equipped with nine 46-cm guns, the largest in the world, and had a displacement of 64,000 tons, making it an unprecedented warship.

After completion, it was immediately incorporated into the Combined Fleet. In an era when aircraft were becoming the main force, Yamato was refitted to strengthen its anti-aircraft armament, and two secondary guns (six guns) were removed and six anti-aircraft guns (twelve guns) were added. It was deployed in the Battle of the Mariana Islands and the Battle of Leyte Gulf.

In April 1945, the US military landed on Okinawa, and Yamato, along with escorting light cruisers and destroyers, was sent out as a surface special attack force, but was blocked by US air forces and sank off the coast of Kyushu.

The product is based on the appearance of the Yamato-class battleship, the first of its kind, during Operation Sho-Ichigo (the Battle of Leyte Gulf) in October 1944.

・The secondary guns on both sides were removed and replaced with twin 12.7 cm anti-aircraft guns, and the ship was fitted with a radar after the refit.

Newly designed parts are available to standardize the differences in the reproduction of equipment, etc. depending on the product release date, and some parts are divided to take painting into consideration. The 12.7 cm twin anti-aircraft gun A1 Kai 3 is divided into a total of 4 parts, and the modeling resolution is improved from the existing 2 parts.
