Kumamoto Castle was built in 1588 by Kato Kiyomasa, who was headquartered in Kumamoto as the lord of the northern half of the world, and is considered one of Japan's three great castles. DYSDX7 Kumamoto Castle Overview Kumamoto Castle, which is counted as one of Japan's top three castles, was built in 1588 by Kiyomasa Kato, who was headquartered in Kumamoto as the lord of the northern half of the world. Construction of the castle began in 1601 and is said to have been completed in 1607. The castle has a circumference of 9 km (at the time of construction) and an area of approximately 980,000 square meters, and has a grand and majestic structure with 3 castle towers, 49 turrets, 18 turret gates, and 29 castle gates. Among them, the beautiful curved stone wall called ``Musha Gaeshi'' is famous. You can also see unique castle construction techniques that skillfully utilize the natural topography. This castle later became the residence of the second generation of the Kato family (1944) and the 11th generation of the Hosokawa family (239). During the Southwest Campaign in 1877, the castle remained in siege for over 50 days against the Satsuma army, demonstrating its true value as an impregnable castle. However, two days before the Satsuma army's all-out attack, a fire of unknown origin destroyed the castle tower and other major buildings. The current castle tower was rebuilt by Kumamoto City in 1960. 1/350 scale length 335 x width 220 x height 173mm unpainted assembly kit □
