Description (2,496 characters)
A product of the locomotive belonging to the JR Hokkaido Hakodate Transportation Office Seikan Branch (formerly Goryokaku Locomotive Depot)
From 2010, the regular pantograph on the 2nd end (towards Hakodate) was replaced with a single-arm pantograph.
Reproduces the compact appearance that follows the ED75 trend
The rooftop equipment, a feature of AC electric locomotives, is realistically reproduced using metal wire and green insulators.
It was used to pull the sleeper express trains "Hokutosei", "Twilight Express", "Cassiopea", and the sleeper express "Hamanasu".
You can enjoy the appearance of the ED79 in its later years, when the regular pantograph was changed from the original underframe cross type to a single-arm pantograph.
