[Scale] 1/700.
[Completed size] L 396 x W 134 x H 88mm (including display base).
The Wave series includes an ocean surface stage that allows you to easily and realistically recreate the ship's sailing appearance after completion!
No painting required: Each part is pre-painted in its own molded color, and some parts can be painted with stickers to create a realistic effect.
No glue required: The parts are designed to fit together for easy assembly.
The aircraft carrier Shinano was originally laid down at the Yokosuka Naval Arsenal in 1939 as the third ship of the Yamato-class battleships.
Due to the loss of the main aircraft carrier in the Battle of Midway in 1942, the Shinano, which was under construction, was redesigned as an aircraft carrier.
After the defeat in the Battle of the Marianas in 1944, Yokosuka was placed within range of air raids, and construction was rushed to allow the ship to be sent to Kure, where it was completed as an aircraft carrier in November.
In the same month, on her maiden voyage to Kure, she was torpedoed by a US submarine and sunk 100 kilometers off the coast of Cape Shionomisaki.
It was the largest aircraft carrier in the Japanese Navy, lost in just 10 days.
(Structure and specifications) - Made up of pre-colored parts, you can recreate the coloring you imagine without painting.
- Snap-fit assembly means no adhesive is required for assembly.
- Reproduces the appearance of the ship sailing on the ocean -Includes a sea surface base that makes it easy to display the ship in a more realistic manner.
(Product features).
The product is based on the shape of the building when it was completed in November 1944, and when the remaining construction work was completed.
・ The real ships are sister ships, Yamato and Musashi, but in order to express the differences, the parts are not shared but are dedicated to each other.
The display sea surface base three-dimensionally depicts the wake waves generated by the bow, sides, and propellers of the ship.
Hull - The hull is divided into left and right parts, and the layout around the bow bell mouth is accurately reproduced.
- The molding color is a dark green that resembles anti-submarine camouflage.
・ Some parts, such as the canvas on the side openings, are expressed using a sealant with excellent conformability.
- The portholes along the ship's sides are delicately carved to show the difference in shape between blocked and unblocked.
Flight deck - The flight deck is made up of two pieces.
The concrete deck and outer edge are separated into parts, making them ideal for painting.
- The cement paving parts are molded in a light gray that is brighter than the warship color.
Armament - Main gun can be elevated and rotated.
Achieves both a minimum number of parts and realistic modeling.
・ The 46cm main barrel is open using a slide mold.
- Dedicated parts are provided for both the main gun canopy and the machine gun turret to recreate the additional machine gun turrets on the No. 2 and No. 3 main gun canopies.
- The secondary gun is rotatable, and the barrel and turret are one-piece structure.
Bridge - The bridge is made using a split/slide mold to minimize the joints between parts, and the parts are integrated.
- The funnel shape and the structure around the rear boat deck are recreated in three.
Dimensions based on recent documents and historical research.
Funnel/Mast/Outfittings - The funnel shape and the structure around the rear short boat deck are three-dimensionally reproduced based on recent materials and research.
The chimney is made up of three parts, and the steam exhaust pipe is integrated with the support structure for a realistic design.
The cap (lattice) at the top of the chimney is missing, creating a very realistic design with a sense of depth.
- The bridge is made into a single part using a slide mold.
All four sides are meticulously carved for a realistic look.
- The high-angle gun mount has a striped pattern, and the hangar wall has a monkey ladder pattern, creating a dense design with detailed engraving on surfaces that tend to be monotonous.
- Bonus parts include adhesive "horizontal binoculars" and "machine gun ammunition box," parts for detailed finishing.
- Four types of aircraft are included: "Shiden Kai", "Ryusei", "Saiun" and "Ohka".
- The Shiden Kai comes in two colors: the standard dark green and a yellow-orange color that mimics the prototype Shiden Kai Ni.
・ The legs of the Ryusei, Saiun, and Shiden Kai are molded as a single piece, and separate parts with even more detailed sculpting are also available.
Included stickers: Pre-cut stickers with excellent adhesion are included, making it easy to paint the details.
- The included stickers come in special colors that correspond to the cement-covered flight deck.
The included stickers include canvas on the ship's sides, linoleum on the bridge floor, and white lines on the flight deck, allowing you to express color without painting.
- Separate from the stickers, decals are included for painting purposes, including the flight deck white lines and the Japanese flag of the aircraft.
