The Ge6/6-I, commonly known as the "Rhaetian Crocodile", is a rod-driven, six-axle electric locomotive that was introduced in 1921 with the electrification of the Albula Line. It has been used for many years to pull various freight and passenger trains, and even now, more than 100 years later, two of these locomotives are still preserved in working order. They continue to be used as if they were still in active service, not only as event trains but also in the summer when they are incorporated into regular timetables in formations with other historical passenger cars and open panoramic passenger cars.
Introducing the Ge6/6-I, also known as the "Rhaetian Crocodile," a historic electric locomotive that debuted over 100 years ago and remains highly popular on the Rhaetian Railway, the N gauge model is finally here. The mechanical structure packed into the compact car body has been recreated using KATO's latest technology. Enjoy it alongside the 3101-7 Alpine Locomotive Ge4/4-III 643, scheduled for release in August 2025, and the 10-2026/2027 Alpine Glacier Express.
The No. 414 locomotive, which is still in active service as a preserved locomotive, has been commercialized in its configuration from around 2023. It reproduces the distinctive rod-driven undercarriage, the hood that rotates along with the bogie, and the body with significantly different window and louver placement on the left and right sides. The 100th anniversary commemorative plaque attached to one of the crew doors of No. 414 is reproduced in print. The yellow handrail next to the crew door is reproduced as a separate part. Headlights light up (warm white LED). All three lights on the front light up, but the light in the middle of the front window does not light up. The silver rims of the left and right headlights are reproduced. The large, uniquely shaped pantograph is reproduced. Equipped with a coreless motor for stable running. The coupler is equipped as standard with a short coupler for the Glacier Express. A replacement Arnold coupler is included.
