The Akitsu Maru was a special purpose ship built for amphibious assaults and other battles.
It was originally planned to carry 13 Type 97 fighters, but was not equipped with landing gear, and immediately after the outbreak of war, it was used in operations in the southern part of the Pacific, including the Dutch East Indies campaign.
This kit is a 1/700 scale plastic model kit of the Akitsu Maru as it was used as a transport ship in 1942.The parts are simple and easy to assemble, allowing for accurate reproduction.
