Kato 101837 February 2026 - March 2026 [Product Introduction] This is a Kato pre-assembled N gauge train, the 321 series JR Kyoto, Kobe, and Tozai Line basic set (3 cars). This is a production version of the D15 formation belonging to the Akashi Branch of the Aboshi General Rolling Stock Center. Equipped with a Toshiba WAU708 air conditioner. This model reproduces the configuration in which the front train number display has been removed from the lead car. The lightning arrester reproduces the new type seen on JR West trains in recent years. Wheelchair and stroller marks are printed on car 1, as well as the weak cooling car designation seen on cars 2 and 6, and the women-only car designation on car 5. Head/tail lights and front destination display light up. The yellow fog light color of the actual train is reproduced. The use of a slotless motor achieves smooth and quiet running. The front display "A Local Nishi-Akashi" is pre-installed. Replacement front displays "A Local Kyoto" and "H Local Matsuiyamate" are included. The intermediate coupling section uses a body-mounted KATO close-coupled coupler (with hook). The front end has a dummy coupler. The side displays are printed in black. In addition to operating on the JR Kyoto Line, JR Kobe Line (Tokaido/Sanyo Main Line), and JR Takarazuka Line (Fukuchiyama Line), with the opening of the JR Tozai Line in 2008, this train also operates on this line and the Gakkentoshi Line (Katamachi Line), as well as through service to the Yamatoji Line (Kansai Main Line) via the Osaka Higashi Line, making it a popular train throughout the Kansai region.
