This set includes two reproductions of the NEXT Shiranui and Akigumo ships, each with etched parts!
The product is based on the appearance of the second Kagero-class destroyer, the Shiranui, and the 19th, the Akigumo, from the start of the war to 1942.The main parts are molded in a slightly lighter gray, reminiscent of the Maizuru Arsenal color.
The hull is a special part, using a different mold from the hull with closed portholes from the end of the war.
The forward bridge does not have additional machine gun mounts, and a dedicated linoleum deck is used instead.
The 25mm machine gun near the funnel is a twin machine gun mount before it was converted to a triple mount.
The aft deck, where depth charges are mounted, is recreated with special parts to resemble the ship's appearance before wartime modifications.
Radar was not yet developed in this era, so both the front and rear masts are recreated with special parts, showing the ship without radar.
High-tracking pre-cut stickers are included, allowing for detailed color coding without the need for painting.
Stickers include gun barrel canvas, lifebuoys, and the inside of the cutter.
For those who prefer to paint, one decal sheet is included featuring the linoleum floor at the rear of the bridge and lifebuoys.
Two ships' worth of etched parts are included, allowing for detailed reproduction that is difficult to achieve with injection parts.
The etched parts include handrails, gangways, lifebuoys, funnel tips, boat davits, skid beams, and flagpoles.
