The product is based on the ship's appearance during the Battle of Leyte Gulf in 1944 (Showa 19) equipped with the Type 21 radar.
It also recreates the differences in shape from its sister ships, the Hiei and Kirishima.
The stickers include a realistic woodgrain pattern for the wooden deck, the Type 21 radar, the emergency rudder, waterproof cloth, and canvas for the boat.
A dedicated name sticker is included.

The etched parts recreate the delicate ship's rigging, which is difficult to achieve with injection parts.
Etched parts include handrails, No. 21 radar, funnel caps, and bulletproof plates.
