The lens construction features 11 elements in 9 groups, including one ED (Extra-low Dispersion) lens and three aspherical lenses. The three aspherical lenses are manufactured in-house by Panasonic, which boasts nearly 30 years of experience in manufacturing aspherical lenses for CD pickup lenses and LUMIX lenses. Effectively preventing various aberrations, including spherical aberration and distortion, they capture everyday moments with vivid contrast. High-speed, high-precision AF supports high-quality shooting. The latest optical design minimizes minute changes in the angle of view during AF search during 4K video recording and peripheral distortion during image stabilization. Furthermore, the 240fps high-speed, high-precision contrast AF ensures instant focus on the subject and captures the perfect shot in a wide range of scenes, from wide-angle to telephoto. Zooming ensures worry-free shooting. Even with zooming, which can be easily affected by camera shake, or handheld night shots, camera shake is effectively suppressed for beautiful images. The lens features "POWER O.I.S.", a gyro sensor built into the lens housing that detects and corrects camera shake. It detects 4,000 times per second, detecting and correcting both high-frequency (fast, small camera shake) and low-frequency (large, slow camera shake).
