The 285 series "Sunrise Express" is a limited express sleeper train that was introduced in 1998.
Between Tokyo and Okayama, the "Sunrise Izumo" (Tokyo - Izumo City) 7-car train and the "Sunrise Seto" (Tokyo - Takamatsu) 7-car train are coupled together to form a 14-car train.
Although the basic performance is the same, JR West's 0 series and JR Central's 3000 series have different car body markings and underfloor equipment.
Since 2013, the line has been renovated with the addition of new pantographs and an expanded door step for passengers.
The product is produced in the form after the renewal implemented after 2013 (0 series is I3 formation, 3000 series is I5 formation).
Beautifully expresses the sunrise mark on the front car
The JR West specification (0 series) and JR Central specification (3000 series) are reproduced with different fonts on the body.
Reproduce the door switch
The side door steps of each car are painted yellow for warning purposes.
The Mohane 285 reproduces the roof area with two additional WPS28 single-arm pantographs.
In addition, the Mohane 285-200 and -3200 models are reproduced with Toshiba underfloor equipment installed.
Rooftop equipment such as coolers and resistors are precisely depicted
Head/tail lights on (with switch to turn them off)
The headlight lighting pattern is exactly like the real car, with the outer headlights being shield beams (warm white) and the inner lights being fog lights (yellow), recreating the difference in light color.
The coupler at the front of the leading car uses a body-mounted close-coupled coupler (without hooks).

The intermediate connection section uses a KATO close-coupled coupler with jumper tube.
The underside of the intermediate coupling car end is equipped with underfloor equipment exclusive to the 285 series as a bogie mounting part.
